Zemi Valley

Zemi is the greener, quieter alternative to the busy sunset valleys — a shaded valley of orchards and a seasonal stream running south from Göreme toward Uçhisar. The longest of the Göreme valley walks at about 5 km.

How to get there

Begin near the Göreme Open-Air Museum and follow the valley south to Uçhisar. Return from Uçhisar by dolmuş or taxi to Göreme.

Best time to walk it

Any time of day — the extra shade makes it the most comfortable midday and summer option. Spring brings the stream and greenest growth.
